I have now seen GotF and from the list I would have to say it's my favorite (haven't seen LCitS or MNT). I found it a very moving and well made production. For me the confirmation came when a 4 year old cousin came in at the part where the children are playing on the beach and was immediately enchanted, becoming sad when the girl was dying. She loved it so much that she wanted to watch more films with those characters.
Instead I watched The Cat Returns, I think there's a new Ghibli fan in the world.

It's hard to choose, but I've chosen for Laputa. I really love the storyline and it's clear too. (I love Nausicaa too, but I think the storyline is a little vague sometimes). GotF is a beautiful and sad story, but it's not my fav. It's just way too sad...and of course, Totoro and Kiki are very nice too, but I like a little bit of action in a Ghibli film. So that's why I've chosen Laputa. (I'm missing some titles of the poll in my story, but these titles are my favs )

Hey new to this site but not the studio Ghibli i voted for Laputa as this was the first Ghibli film i ever saw back in the 80s. But having seen as many others as i can find in the shops it was a very hard choice between Totoro, Nausicca and Laputa.
On a different note has anyone read the book Howls Moving Castle to compare between film and book???. Book is great, explains alot but as in every film made from a book it misses out quite a bit and changes bits.

I can't decide to vote for any. Kiki, Laputa and Grave of fireflies are the film I've ever seen only. I'd like to watch other ones as well.
but.. umm if I vote. I think I'll vote for Laputa. I think it's really great ![](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

i really like all the movies that is produced by Ghibli, but i voted for Grave of fireflies as it was really touching and shows the cruel of the war ><

My personal Favourite film by them during the 80's is Grave Of The Fireflies which is closely followed by Laputa Castle Of The Sky.

Like the most people, I voted for Laputa!
It`s very very beautifull and the I love it so much!
But I have to say, that the later films (in the 90s and later) impressed me much more! Mononoke and Howl`s moving castle is the best thing Miyazaki made!

I can't really decide, since I haven't seen enough of them. Only GotF and Laputa, and most of Kiki. Of course, they're very different from each other, which makes it even more difficult. If I had to, then possibly GotF.
But since I'll probably be seeing Nausicaa later today, I'll wait.

awww, you guys are a perfect match (sorry, I couldn't resist. don't take it too seriously)
But anyway, since I didn't get to see Nausicaa properly, and since it's just so great, i'm voting for Grave of the Fireflies.

Nausicca would have to be one of the most easiest movies to watch over and over having all the right elements that make a great movie.
Laputa ,Grave of the fireflies ,Kiki's, Totoro all pretty good with a single subject matter the main focus, like the castle in Laputa.
Finding Ghibli films through our first purchase "Spirited away" lead me to start looking for more, and more we would like as Disney has lost that touch prefering to go CGI . One of the last films we liked was the rescuers down under "not been bias" now its just all sparkle no substance.

Totoro because it Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside that no other film does quite so well
I also really like the simple and enchanting storyline that brings you back to childhood

Laputa is the first film that introduced me to Ghibli. It's great. (Can't remember if I voted for it, though.)
