Hey Guys
Well, I love the opening song to Whisper of the Heart. Y'know- the country road song with the singing.

Well, I looked up the soundtrack online and it's in Japanese. Could anyone tell me what the title of this song is, either in Japanese or English?

I'm pretty sure it is Take me home country roads by John Denver?

Don't quote me on that, but I am pretty sure that that is the title of the song.

No, the full title is as Sanfan said. "Country Roads" is the 'bastardized' title the girls give it in the movie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Denver. It seems to get called just "Country Roads" a lot of the time though, perhaps people forget the full title?

The Whisper OST doesn't have either of the original versions on it.

The opening song is "Take Me Home, Country Roads," performed by Olivia Newton-John. It is not on the soundtrack CD (but easily available on many others).

The ending is "Country Road," performed by HONNA Yôko. It is on the soundtrack CD.

They're two different songs with different titles, lyrics and arrangements, but sharing the same tune (the final version of "Country Road" is more than just a translation; the lyrics are quite different and relate to Shizuku's life).

Regardless of the exact title, I enjoy hearing HONNA Yoko's version and listening to the girls in the film singing Shizuku's version...

And hey, 'Concrete Roads' was from the heart as well...
