It's time for the 2025 Ghibli Cup final!
As usual, please just vote in the poll above. The polls will close at around 5:30pm GMT on Monday 17 February. Feel free to post comments here during and after the voting period!
For the final only, there is also a special tiebreaker rule: if the votes are tied when the poll closes, I'll make an announcement post, and the first person to post with their preference after that will break the tie.
This is the second knockout match between The Tale of Princess Kaguya (currently ranked #5) and Whisper of the Heart (currently ranked #1), after they met in last year's semi finals. Reigning champion Whisper of the Heart has the chance to win a ridiculous fifth title! On the other hand, Princess Kaguya is the first Takahata film to reach the final - could it go one step further and win?

Time's up... and both The Tale of Princess Kaguya and Whisper of the Heart are on 3 votes! That means that for the first time EVER, we'll apply the special tiebreaker rule!
To break the tie, please post in this thread and say which of the two films you want to win. Whoever gets in first will decide the result!
(This does mean that in theory, I could just reply with my own preference, but as I have a head start on everyone, I won't be doing that... BUT if nobody replies quickly I just might change my mind!)

There it is - the deciding vote!
And that means that the winner of Ghibli Cup 2025 is...
Whisper of the Heart!
It was by the finest of margins, but Whisper wins for a fifth time!

Watched "Whisper of the Heart" late last night and totally enjoyed it again... Even saw the dragon in the sunrise again, lol
I think that I've asked this before, but every time I see it, I swear to myself that I've seen this before in another setting...
that is the drawing/painting of a man working on a violin while in a stone cell and he is gazing up at the sunlight streaming thru the window...
Was this done by Ghibli Studio??? or another artist? Michalango, perhaps?
As I said, I may have asked this question before, but it comes to mind EVERY time I see it...

This is Husky... for some reason I am being logged in as a guest. It has been so long since I've had to actually login that I've forgotten my password, but when I went to change it, I was taken to a login site with user/password blocks???

Oh, that's weird! I remember somebody else had trouble using the password reset and I'm not sure if I had a solution then... See if it is something with your computer, and if not let me know and I'll try to figure something out.

Me again...
No matter what I try, nothing seems to work...
I enter my name and old pw and it shows a box 'forgot pw?' I click that and it tells me to enter my user name and I've tried different things from there... entering a new pw and clicking 'submit' or 'reset' ,, If I use 'submit', it takes me to the ghibli welcome page... If I click 'reset', it clears my name with 'guest'...

I think the "forgot password" page SHOULD ask for your email address and then send you a reset link, but it's possible that isn't working (there are a few things that have gone a bit wonky on this old software).
Could you temporarily make a new account? That way we can talk in PMs and try to work something out.

Hello husky51,
If you have forgotten your password, you can get a new randomly-created password. You can change it later in your profile.
Click here to obtain a new password: https://na01.safelinks.protection.outloo...D00edae190a227d
plus 3 more lines that I didn't copy!
I got this in my mail, one for each time I tried to change the pw thru the Tavern... I hesitate to click on this large jumble of code...
what due you think?

I think following the link will be safe, I'm just not certain if it will work. Give it a shot and see if it lets you continue the process.
