Technically saxophone isn't an orchestral instrument, but eh. I really like the sound of violin, but I actually don't like big orchestral string sections; it kind of takes the edge off the sound, I much prefer it solo or in a small ensemble. I also really like bassoons.

If it's played well, I love the violin.
I love the sax too, seeing as I myself am an avid tenorman, but I don't like it in an orchestra.
It was made for Jazz, man!

I picked violin, since it can be so stirring and mournful at the same time. I play in quite a few bands without string sections, but I think the songs generally sound more dramatic with strings..
That, along with the Piano.

I've also got to admire the oboe.
When played well, it really has a sad feel to it.

I played the violin and the viola, but now I play the clarinet. It's a great, big band's instrument! clarinet rules!
saxophone is not part of a symphony orchestra xD
