Not watched it yet. It was a cheapie and an impulse buy because it was done by the same team who did Blood. Looks very nice, subtle toned down artwork, pastel colours etc

I enjoyed it, it's by the same people who did 'Blood: The Last Vampire' so you can expect some stunning visuals. It shares a very short length (80mins) with 'Blood' but the similarities end there.
It's set around the year 900 so is all about traditional medieval Japanese honour and warlike dignity, the dignity and restraint of the characters really oozes throughout the story. It is also very pretty to look at, all being drawn in a traditional Japanese art style - not exactly woodcut stuff but certainly of that same feel, with everything subdued in a pale parchment colour but with certain highlights of bright colour such as the autumn leaves on trees.
The story itself is about love and betrayal and its pretty dark and rather bloodthirsty with lots of samurai slicing chunks off each other.
But given how nice it looks I do recommend it, if you can get it at a cheap price.

Yay, last 3 DVDs of "Last Exile" arrived. And now have Kare Kano right up to the end, so I'm splurging through that really fast now. It's getting pretty grim, dark and depressing towards the end.
