|
Posted by arren18 on 03.18.2022, 06:27 PM: Wow, that's crazy! I realised at some point that I'd been here 15 years as of last August. It's interesting that several of the people who still come here joined around the same sort of time.

Posted by ButaPairotto on 03.19.2022, 08:45 AM: Wow, that's a long time! Congrats on being a part of a community for so long, that seems like a rare thing. What was it like here back in the day? Was it very different? |
Posted by husky51 on 03.19.2022, 03:13 PM: Back then there were a lot of Ghibli films that weren't seen yet or hadn't been produced yet... At the time there were maybe 40 or so active/semi-active members and a few dozen more that just popped in now and then...
|
Posted by arren18 on 03.19.2022, 03:34 PM: Yeah, it was definitely a lot busier. Some threads were really active - for example, this thread is marked as #2 because the original one got so long that a new one was started! At that time there were more people around as new Ghibli films were still being released pretty regularly, but also forums were just a lot more popular as a format in general.

Posted by husky51 on 03.20.2022, 08:56 PM: hahaha...
|
Posted by ButaPairotto on 03.21.2022, 03:50 AM: I love it here now, but would have been cool to be around back then as well. But at least we have one more Ghibli film to come at least. Fingers crossed.

Posted by ButaPairotto on 03.22.2022, 07:21 AM: That sounds like a great experience and opportunity! Keep us posted on what it's like to live there, I would love to hear about it. I'm now going to go look up Seto Inland sea because I have no idea what or where it is... |
Posted by husky51 on 03.22.2022, 12:18 PM: hahaha, SAME here... |
Posted by arren18 on 03.22.2022, 05:42 PM: It's the body of water between the islands of Honshu and Shikoku - so "inland" in contrast with the ocean. If you go to places like Osaka, Kobe, Okayama or Hiroshima, those are on the northern coast of the Seto Inland Sea.

Posted by husky51 on 03.22.2022, 10:28 PM: I have been in Kobe, a l-o-o-o-o-o-g time ago... |
Posted by Kazegami on 03.26.2022, 04:17 PM: Thanks arren! That's good to hear. It looks like a pretty area, and I'm just a short walk away from the beach, so that's nice too. And yeah, Kobe will be my nearest big city. I really like the idea of living in Kobe, it seems lovely.
