You like crime books, I have read most, if not all of the '87th Precinct' series written by Ed McBain, set in a New York Precinct...

He has also written another series under another pen name... Evan Hunter., about an criminal attorney, set in Florida...

Under this name, he also wrote "The Blackboard Jungle", from which a highly acclaimed movie was produced by the same title... Starring Glenn Ford and Sidney Poitier...

J.A. Jance also wrote a series of books about a Seattle Cop, and also another series about a woman who becomes an Arizona Sheriff. At one point, they actually work on the same case...

Another series, written by Tony Hillerman is about a cast of Navajao Tribal Policemen and women...

I, personally, have enjoyed ALL of these books...

I will include one more author, Joseph Wambaugh, a retired Los Angeles Cop who wrote a number of novels...

Reading a non-fiction book titled "Fat Leonard"... A reportedly true story of a man who hoodwinked the US Navy numerous times in the late 1990's and early 2000's for hundred of thousands of dollars for supplying US Navy ships in foreign ports with fresh water and removing waste sewage and vastly overcharging for this service...
