This actually sounds really nice, I love Taeko's voice, and it means I can FINALLY get Only Yesterday on Blu-ray at some point.

when i first joined tavern, means when i started watching ghiblis, Only Yesterday, Ocean Wave or Porco Rosso was not attractive/interesting to me. However now(after around four year, time flies ) these movies are kind of cool, they are more sensible and deep.

its a uniquely Miyazaki film, one only he could make and its uniqueness places it beyond being easily critiqued.[About Porco Rosso] taken from a quote of Saddletank and Orphic Okapi

I'll be excited to finally see it in English. Dubs aren't for everyone, but I always enjoy seeing them.

One of the difficulties of Japanese for Google Translate (even before you deal with grammar) is the fact there are so many homophones in Japanese, so without the original spelling or some context, there's a good chance it won't figure out which of many possibilities is correct.
Unfortunately, I couldn't come up with anything for "obai" either. Are you sure that was the word? If there's anything else you can tell me from the show then I might be able to work it out.

As I was watching the show, iirc, it was described as being about the arts of Japan, meaning like traditional occupations... One older gentleman was lamenting about being the only one left from his once well-manned company or profession (?) that was still there doing this in the 'old' manner, although there were a young lady or two who were demonstrating the different procedures with him... including the hand-pressing of the wet, red Safflower mixture that ended up with using a press to get all the liquid out. I don't remember the title of the show, but remember writing my previous post immediately after the show and during the closing credits, it appeared to give what it was about and the word Obai was shown in quotation marks or apostrophe's...
hahaha, I would NOT have made a good on-scene narrator... too much going on to try and keep track of everything... lol
What got my attention initially was the camera panning over a green field of yellow blossoms and the thought popped into my head, "I wonder if those are Safflowers?" and then it was! and I was listening and watching and thinking back and forth between the show and my memories from "Only Yesterday"... From the different things shown, I gathered that it was about making dyes...
