A couple of years ago, a user by the name of HataZaki created a game, known as the Studio Ghibli Elimination Game. It gave users a chance to express how they felt about certain ghibli films, and charcters as well. These game were probably really fun, as I wasn't around to experience them. And neither were a lot of other members. So, reasons why I am starting up a new one:

1. There are a lot more Ghibli movies now, so people will have a wider range of choice.
2. Some people, like me, didn't get the chance to be included in these games. This will give other users a chance.
3. It is a valid way to collect information on ghibli and its fans. It lets me and others see how we all feel about ghibli films.
Rules

1. There will be a list of movies to choose from. Each time you vote, you give a movie one point and take two points from another movie. You can add and subtract points from the same movie. Here is an example:
I could do this: Say Porco Rosso has 9 points. I could give it one point, then subtract two points from it, leaving it at eight.
Or this: I could give one point to Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro, and take two points from Ponyo. You can not give more than one point to a movie or take more than two points. You can't take less than two points, either.
2. Each movie starts with 20 points.
3. You can't vote more than once per day. If you do, your second vote will not be counted.
4. You can only give points to one movie per vote. Same with taking points.
5. If a movie's points reach zero, it is eliminated. This also happens if it reaches negative one, which can happen if you take points from a movie with one point.
6. If somebody makes an error in their scoring, I will handle it. If I make an error, please tell me in your next post.

Copy and paste the scoreboard from the previous post into yours. Put your votes at the top of the post. Change your two movies scores according to your votes. Post!

Ah, I remember when we did this before! This type of game is always fun, but I wonder if it'll work out so well when only a few people are around regularly enough to keep voting. Anyway, let's see what happens.

It may have been unfair to Princess Kaguya, Saddles, but it was the only one that I haven't seen yet and therefore fair game for a first choice. I mean, I do like all of the others to one degree or another...

Nausicaa is losing points awfully quickly! I'm surprised it isn't getting more support. And I guess like husky I'll take points from something I haven't seen, as I do like them all to some extent and don't want to be too hard on something that's already losing points.

Yep! That's maybe a little hard to keep track of when we're in different parts of the world and therefore different time zones, but I think if we each leave about 24 hours, give or take, in between turns, then we don't have to worry about accusations of cheating.

I am not entirely sure if i got the game. my question is what is the purpose of this game? we find which movie is actually liked most?

Something like that, savior, but not really... each player subtracts 2 points from a title and adds one point to another. Because we all have different likes and dislikes (or more not liked as much) there is really no best liked movie left over. It just goes with what we are thinking at the time se make our choices. And after we have posted our choices, we have to wait 24 hours before choosing again. It is really just a game. I think that at one time we had characters instead of titles. Maybe after this game is over, we can do that one or something else. even other anime titles. Just start with a list of 20 or so. To carry this along, I'd like to keep it to one game at a time, though...

I forget though..

If a title is eliminated, does it have to be by exact number or can it overlap??? like if a title has one point left, can it be eliminated on the next round or does it have to receive another point first?

Eliminated if it gets to zero or a minus is my understanding. At a score of just 1 its still in the game.
