Go watch it.

Nuff said.

FINE then you twisted my arm. Its a new movie out (quite new I think at least) and its set in a post-apocolyptic earth which is (very like nausicaa) being overun by a dangerous (and if you enter it, deadly) forest. Young Agito, the son of an aging hero, inadvertently sets in motion a series of catastrophic events when he wanders into a forbidden zone of the forest. He stumbles across a cyogenic stasis tube containing Toola, a girl who has a vital mission enrusted to her from the past...

Its fantastic, almost as good as (or as good as) the Ghibli films with plenty of good emotional scenes and beautiful animation not to mention a very clever plotline.

GO BUY IT

I got around to watching this. Ill have to say that it was pretty good, but I felt throughout the whole thing that the pacing is off, and then I got to thinking about the ghibli film that was closest to it, which was Laputa and thought of how great the pacing was there.

I find that in almost all non-ghiblis that the pacing is usually a touch faster. Not that its always a bad thing, but it is nice to let the backgrounds and setting and characters was over me a little more so that I can care more when you are heading to the climax. All in all, not bad, worth another look for the animation, but just felt a little too fast for my liking.

I got this movie as a Christmas present 2 years ago. It may not be of Ghibli caliber, but I certainly enjoyed it I really love the opening song!

Absoloutly fantastic movie, really good eye popping animation, music etc.
But, alas, I still believe the storyline had something.. Missing. It was a bit rushed the relationship between the two main characters, and you could see where theyd got a lot of inspiration from Ghibli.

That aside, the film is supeer dooper awesome. I somehow always compare it with the girl who leapt through time, perhaps because they both have strange animation styles which are gorgous. Btw, the opening sequence to Origin is freakkiing AMAZING!!! eenouggh, go watch

I really adored the animation and artwork. But the initial story line just reminded me (slightly) of Nausicaa
Overall though I would rate this 6/10 mainly for the beautiful artwork, but I did enjoy the film

I agree, the storyline did feel rushed, and I felt like there wasn't that much put into exploring the relationships within the film. Other than that it was fantastic, great animation and music, also the bit where he turns into the tree reminded me slightly of the ending to Akira with what happens to the boy in that!! I can see some inspiration has been taken from that!!!
