The Boy and the Heron won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Motion Picture! Joe Hisaishi missed out on the award for best score, but apparently this was the first time Ghibli even got nominated for an award, so that's a pretty good result.
Of course, the main interest is that the Golden Globes often signal what will happen at the Oscars

That's fantastic news! The Boy and the Heron truly deserves the recognition!

And now it's been nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film! I wasn't really in any doubt that it would be nominated (nominations in other categories would've been more of a surprise) but we'll see what happens next!

The Boy and the Heron will be released on Blu-ray, DVD etc in early July! It's coming out first in Japan, then the US (and Canada?) a few days later. No news on other regions yet though.

The entire studio is receiving an honorary Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival this week! They'll also be showing Ghibli films, including four of the shorts that are normally only ever screened at the Ghibli Museum and Ghibli Park: https://www.festival-cannes.com/en/press...-goro-miyazaki/

Grave of the Fireflies (which typically gets left out because of its weird rights situation) is finally going to join the other Ghibli films on Netflix outside of the US and Japan: https://about.netflix.com/en/news/grave-...ms-september-16
EDIT: I just saw that Netflix corrected this to say that they WILL also have Grave in the US (but not other Ghibli films).
