HL: I got a new job!!  <3
I've never quit a job before, but I know with the factory people quit short notice all the time. (my hands are beat up from it too and my rash spread everywhere recently so wearing gloves is uncomfortable)

That sounds like a good job! I don't know exactly what it was you did before, but from what you said about it, the new job sounds much more valuable. Good luck with it!
Highlight: saw a bunch of little wild boar in the forest on the way back from the supermarket.

Haha, I worked in a fish factory.
HL: Nice and sunny day. ^_^ Not sure if the folks want to go do something.
Also, I received the most lovely dress in the mail, but it is too small and can't return it. Poo, but hoping to make some alterations with it. The skirt is so beautiful, and there's a lot of material there so it should be at least made into a skirt (and the top part into a handbag). Otherwise, we're going to see if someone can turn the zipper part into an open laced part, not sure what to call it. Just so excited to eventually wear it. Cost me a pretty penny but love it so so much (and losing weight won't really help because of my body's natural shape).

HL of yesterday: I went to the open day of the university I'll be going to in September. It is awesome. Looking forward to going so, so much. And I already was! But now so much more so. It's a really big university, about the fifth largest in the UK, which is great because that means the facilities and staff and everything are some of the best around. It's got a lot to be proud of, really impressive. My course sounds fantastic. Also there's a pub right by the campus called Ships & Giggles. ;u;

Thanks guys.
I'm going to be doing Asia Pacific Studies, arren. Specialising in Japanese, obviously. You have the choice of learning Japanese, Chinese or Korean. The main focus is on learning the language; besides that you have a choice of various modules that will be focused on things like economics or culture and history and so on. So you can tailor your course as you like, studying the aspects that interest you the most. I had some reservations about the course at first because it seemed quite focused on the business and economic side of things which I'm not that interested in, but it would seem that it's much more varied and flexible than that, and language-focused, which is perfect.

Kaz - cool! I assume that involves a study abroad period too? And although you're focusing on Japanese, do you get the opportunity to try the others?

Yes, I'll go to Japan for my third year. Not sure whereabouts, one of the students that spoke to us about the course went to Nagoya for her year but I'm sure there'll be plenty other places to go as well. And yes, absolutely we can study the other languages as well but they just warned us to be careful of trying to take too much on.  Saying that, they actively encourage every student of the university to try learning a new language while they study there. And they've got a lot of good resources for that, Rosetta Stone software for one... I've never used it but heard it's really good. I think I would like to learn a little of something else at least, probably Chinese.

Highlight: I'm in Korea! It's only until Saturday night, but that should still be enough time to have a lot of fun. We had to sleep in the airport last night because of the early flight, so I'm pretty tired out, but I'm enjoying myself so far.
