silly me, when i went to japan i thought i could just drop in to studio ghibli while i was wandering about. was puzzled when it wasn't in any of the tourist/guide books. so i asked my cousin, who has lived in tokyo for 15 years, where it was. it was then i found out you need to get tickets way in advance, so no hope of me going there. and then he casually mentioned he had been there, he did translating for an australian author who had wanted to meet miyazaki. they went to the studio, thinking miyazaki would not be there, or if he was, they would not be able to see him, but meet him they did. my cousin couldn't work out why i was so excited by this (he;s not into anime at all) and would only say "oh, he seemed quite friendly." 8] how cool is that.
