I love genshiken, it's a brilliant piece of storytelling about a bunch of Otaku at university (Genshiken is the abbrevaited name for said club). I've not yet read the manga but the anime is very well made and I enjoyed both series.
I'll be honest though, I really don't think it would be something you'd enjoy FFF. I don't want to dissuade you from watching it though, and I'll admit it would be interesting to see what you think

I've been reading Gunsmith cats, but it's 3:46am here and I can barely string together a sentence. I'll talk about it when I'm more awake.

I'm sorry JRR but although it's good, it really isn't the best. I know It's entirely a matter of opinion but I have quite a long list of things I could say negatively about it  . It'd be best described as unique in that I've not really seen much I can compare it too, but when you try to mix a storyline that surreal into a setting that founded in realism you're doomed to fail unless you hit is perfectly.

Obnoxious, very much so I'm pretty sure theres a section of dialogue in FF4 where the lead character tells one of his party members to "Shut the hell up" because "All you girls talk s**t"". I guess you could call them chauvanistic too

Really, if you were told to describe an FF lead to someone who'd never played a FF game before, the things you described could be far more easily classed as "disturbed", or "Warped". You only need to play that part of the game where you dive into his mind to find that out.

Ok clamp anime, where do I start.
You'll probably find that Clamp don't produce the animes but instead they work in with company in question to provide the character designs and story, after all Clamp are a manga collective not an anime one. Almost all Clamp aime therefore is a really accurate rendering on the manga, and you hardly ever get filler or things that never happened. I don't ever recall seeing a clamp anime that crossed the border into fanservice either. Heres a few that I've seen, but I'm sure there are more..

Have a browse around and see what you think, Holic and Tsubasa are very good if you've not already seen them, but I prefer the little gems like Angelic Layer that few people seem to know, but is yet brilliant. Enjoy

Thats a fairly accurate description, although I'm annoyed you left out us "Clamp fanboys" . I wouldn't have called CG philosophical, but it's certainly a very "deep" premise for an anime (heres hoping that makes sense). Given that a lot of clamp tends to be quite light-hearted I was pleased to see something different.
But then again, this could all be attributed to that fact that CG was only animated and designed by clamp, it was written by.........thats annoying......who the hell wrote it?

Sunrise! Lol, though they got involved with Clamp early on, so all the character designs and the meater stuff were done by them. Looks like I was half right at least.
Good to be back anyway, as always I have a lot to talk about, and I love the new name Sanfan. I could get used to it

I'm watching Shakugan no Shana II now that my laptop is back. It's really very good, but if I have one flaw its that all the "Flame Haze" and "Tomogara" characters have silly names. Heres a few examples.
The Beautiful Whim
The Interpretor of Condolances
The Anomoly of Jurisdiction
The Red-haired Flame-eyed one
The Fang of Devastation
Hecate, the Great Throne (probably the cutest bad guy ever! she looks a little like Nodoka Miyazaki crossed with nagato Yuki , but a little shorter)
You get the idea, some of the dialogue can be really really hard to follow

Ok, where to start?
Following talking to Sadoru on saturday my laptop when kaphut again, and had to once again go for repairs, putting it out of action until wednesday. Once again when I got it back the tavern was predictably last on my subconscious list of things to do.
So I'm sooo sorry to anyone who's been inconvenienced (again) by my absence, and I've tried to post in keeping with whats going on. I could only catch up on a small amount (maybe 2-3 pages).
I don't think I've done something in the rp thats contradicted something someone else has done (yet) or given a description of something/someone that isn't right (like saying Sadoru is near the house for instance). If I have it's because I'm a little lost.
Just like Okahara, I've completely lost my bearings . It's amazing how much you've all moved around, and from what I can glean only two other people have stayed in the same places
Help me has there been a new map that I've missed.

It's cold.
Too cold.
I shivered, the increasing damp of the grass on my back had reminded me where I was.
I slowly opened my eyes to gaze up at the sky. Had I been asleep? it certainly seems like it. If so, how long had I been gone for? The last thing I remebered was Hikari heading off to the tents with.....with..who was that again, it probably wasn't important but i spent a few seconds trying to grasp it, and put a name to the face. No, it was lost on me. There had been other things too, an argument in one of the tents, and...and a scream? I was sure there was more, but it was lost, sacrificed to dreamland.
The light had only been dimming then, somewhere on the edge of twighlight before I'd lain down, and yet now the garden was dark and hushed, overhung with a silence the sort of which only comes after a heavy storm. There was sound certainly, people having their own conversations but
Had there been a storm?
It wasn't important now anyway.
I took a deep breath and attempted to roll over onto my left side so I could see the tents and get my bearings again.
Unfortunately I hadn't realised how stiff my back was I was and paid in pain for my ignorance. Owch , I moaned.
The whole left side of my body cramped up, forcing me to collapse forward onto my front, causing the unsettling crunch of a plastic cup which thankfully happened to be empty. I pushed myself back off the ground and up into a pressup position before pulling my legs under me.
Kneeling was better than lieing down at least.
I yawned and stretched out my arms, before repositioning my glasses.
A sharp cough reminded me that my throat was dry, and I needed a drink, but the table where the drinks had been seemed vacant. I looked, hopeful, in the direction of the house and could see Sadoru scurrying about carrying the drinks from earlier.
Target confirmed, I thought.
I got to my feet, stretched again for good measure and headed in his direction.

Rental Magica is a fairly new anime iirc. It's been on my "to watch" list for at least two months anyway. I've heard a lot of good things about it, so maybe that'd be worth checking out.

Thats a fairly good description of their costume, with one execption: "Elephant Sized". They much have gone as a scaled down version
I was looking for some of my cosplay pictures earlier, but I could only find the one and it's not very good I'll have to get in contact with the friend who took them and get him to send me a few. I've been at 2 conventions and was cosplayng in both of them, naruto charcaters on both occasions. First was kabuto, second year was Shikamaru (although tbh I looked a lot more like his dad, I'm too old and unshaven to pull off shikamaru properly)
