Lowlight: It's my Birthday. I had dinner booked for myself and 6 friends. I gave my work notice last Wednesday, while also looking for someone to cover my shift myself. Today I still haven't found anyone, and neither had they. Though I get the feeling they haven't actually tried. So basically they are forcing me to come in, I have had to cancel my plans, and they're also being assholes about it.
I'll post a highlight when I get one

I tempted to get in on this debate right away, but I what I wanted to say really has already been said. Husky summed it up quite nicely, live and let live. I think it's important to remember that the Tavern is filled people people from all different countries, with all different sexualities, nationalities, religions and backgrounds. We have all grown up differently, and we all see the world in a different way. We all have our own morals and beliefs based on our surroundings, and this can't be helped. So at a certain point we have to agree to disagree.
We're all here celebrating the universal appeal and magic of Studio Ghibli movies, and that's what unites us after all!

Try not to be too hard on yourself. At the end of the day, she's just one person and at least now you know you're ready for a relationship. Now that you've figured that, you will find meeting people a lot easier, perhaps in the past you hadn't noticed signs people were giving off because it wasn't your focus. But who knows, she may just have been busy and it will work out. At least you tried. Seriously - putting yourself out there takes a lot of confidence, and it's much better knowing 'no' than knowing nothing.
Personally, when it comes to love, I don't wanna say I don't believe in it but I've certainly never felt it or had it (romantic love of course ). I can't imagine myself ever settling down or falling in love. It's kinda depressing, but I'm also comfortable being single.

Wow, this is the first I've heard of this, thanks for delivering the news!
Very exciting! Honestly I am sure it will hard to capture the essence of the first season...and I'm sure there will be LOTS of complaints about missing the previous set of characters. Still, I'm hoping they will pull of something decent.

Snorkeling, I find the deep really creepy. Freaks me out for some reason.
Warm summer afternoon or frosty winter morning?

Rabbit Hole - Amazing, beautiful film. Nicole Kidman earns some respect from me with this role. It handles an extremely touchy subject with such purity and truth, and doesn't feel the need to force an unnecessary happy ending.
Black Swan - Also amazing! Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis were fabulous, it kept me captivated from start to finish. You could really see the tie ins with Perfect Blue which was fun. I love Winona Ryder too so it was great to see her in it for a bit too. Deserved the oscar for sure!

But seriously, I can't see why people celebrate his death.
I agree. That party outside the White House was bizarre.
The States are just bizarre in general.
I have to agree. I mean, I know it's a touchy subject and I don't wish to offend anyone, but when I heard the news I was expecting more of a sense of peace I guess? A sense of relief, maybe a happy cry at the sign of hope and justice.
I thought the dancing in the street was...yeah, bizarre. I mean it's not like I think Osama deserves any respect in death, but I would just feel weird doing that.
