Miyazaki is man of the old type, diligent Japanese. He likes to animate his drawing so much. I think he's working forever.
But I don't know whether his work is released.

http://www.buta-connection.net/news/news_images/20161113_02

He wrote this his proposal, "Hand writing".
Schedule
2016 July, started scenario.
2017 Storyboard, and making animation.
2019 Finished. (Miyazaki wrote "Then, am I still living?"

Because i had thought that fish type Ponyo wasn't lovely, i wasn't being interested in this movie. but i went to see in this movie. and, this movie was the same good as Totoro.

the scene that human type Ponyo running on the sea is wonderful. certainly, Ponyo was running like Conan. you can experience the essence of Miyazaki-Anime in this scene, and you can become happy too.

Ponyo 's father remind me of Howl, as dballred said. and in Ponyo 's father slight gesture, there was motion like Lupin. driving of Sosuke's mother is powerful like Lupin in Cagliostro.

i like scene of the landscape that goes under water, and because i like Panda-Kopand-Amefuri-Circus.
i also say, you mustn't think this to be a movie that aims for children. don't miss it.
children enjoy this movie by their methods, and adults can enjoy this movie by their methods.

Sorry, but I'm extremely ignorant when it comes to the technical aspects of animation (or, rather, the technical aspects of anything). Three questions:

What does "full animation" mean?

Is it possible that the film would play at more than 24 frames per second?

Also, what is the difference between a drawing and a frame?

in Japan, "full animation" means drawing 24 or 12 drawing per second.
normally in Japanese hand -drawing Animation(not released in theater), aboout 8/sec. but now, almost animation use CG-animated, usually it makes 24/sec. when the number of drawing increases, motion becomes smooth.

an important point is, not how many frames drawn, but how many frames drawn by Key-Animater(GENGA). Key-Animater(GENGA) and Animater(DOUGA) have the difference of drawing technique. when the number of Key-Animate frames increases, Motion comes to have fine expressions.

- 60/sec -
SHOWSCAN that Douglas Trumbull designed, is 60 frames per second with 70mm filmes. it needs a special theater. I had seen it before. its very clearly and beautiful images.

Miyazaki Goro talked with Oshii Mamoru in Monthly Cyzo (2006.

---summary-----------------------------------------------
Oshii:
I think that Miya-san's gap of his usual speech and behavior and his work is large. Did not you have repulsion to his such gap?
Goro:
Umm, He is not even in the target of my repulsion, because I hardly had the chance to know his real image to begin with.
. . . . .

Oshii:
You talked about "killing his father" in "Ged-Senki", don't you? I understand very well who plotted such a wicked situation. (lol)
Goro:
There was a producer who instigated me in my ear, saying that "Goro. after all, kill his father". (lol)
. . . . .

Oshii:
Did you want to kill your father by the real life before?
Goro:
No, I didn't.
Oshii:
Any time?
Goro:
No.
Oshii:
I thought, I wanted to kill Miya-san many times. (lol).
Because of he is the man whom I wanted to defeat, when I was making the TV series of "Urusei Yatsura" I mimicked Miya-san's methodology of the TV series.
(EDIT 2006.8.30)
. . . . .

Goro:
It is after I assume the curator of Ghibli Museum that I had to battle with father. As the creator, his opinion might be correct, but I had to said him, from the standpoint of construction and management, "It is not realistic". It became feeling "Keep out of it" for the first time at that time.
Oshii:
Oh, exactry, I wanted to hear it. (tears).
. . . . .

Goro:
I have two feelings now. "Because I made a work, I want to make a better work." and, "because I made a work, I will not make it any longer."
Oshii:
You will change, if it will release. The word that I can send to Goro, "Force him into retirement." It is your role and your obligation, Mr.Goro who is his son, it isn't ours. It is not happier than the making of movie, if I say from the conclusion. Then, your mother might feel sorry. I think that neither the home nor the movie coexist.
Goro:
When I talked with Mr.Oshii, I am not suitable for the movie director. I though I want to advance on the road against which it need not fight so much.
Oshii:
The director is the man who fights.

Because DLP checking had begun since 12 PM, and they works in Kobe at night, they takes a nap, and they went to location hunting, I thought that they stayed at the hotel in Kobe on that day, and their destination seems to be not too far from Kobe.

I guess "Umi no Monogatari" by "Haitani Kenjirou".
海のものがたり, 灰谷 健次郎

The story of the boy, Kenta who lives with his father who is a skilled fisherman. The transfer student, Kanako from the city, and a young class teacher Noriko, the story described their friendship in the port town.

Haitani Kenjirou was born in Kobe.

EDIT:===2006.8.10 09:45===
this story is set in port town in the vicinity of Kobe.
and it makes us think about environmental problems.

Kenta hope to become a fisherman like his father. But, a catch of fish has decreased every year.
Why has fishes decreased?
The sea is dirty with the drain from factories and the drain from homes. The fishery is lost by land reclamation. A skilled fisherman says, "Isn't the fisherman responsible? There are people who is catching the fish indiscriminately."

Which book is the next Miyazaki's Film?Go to Thread Search for Posts by nanashi Report Post to a Moderator        IP Address Go to the top of this page

Nausicca.net and GhibliWorld.com informed about next Miyazaki's Film
--------------------------------------------------
August 8, 2006
The normal production diary from June were uploaded today.
http://www.ghibli.jp/15diary/
According to this diary, next Miyazaki's film seems set in around Kobe city, Japan.

July 6:
The main staff, Kondo-san, Yoshida-san, art staff and Inamura-san went to XXX (somewhere) for location hunting on the next film, and joined Miyazaki-san who came earlier. They went around the places Miyazaki-san recommended. According to them, although they had doubts, the small coffee shop on a mountain was good.

July 21:
After checking DLP at Kobe, and after having taken the catnap at a hotel, we went to XXX for location hunting. We joined Takeshige at the XX station and went to the mountain where XXX is able to be commanded.
Though we went to the place where Miyazaki-san recommended, we were not able to see the panorama of XXX because of the mist. We also stopped in the mysterious cafe on the mountain where the staff who had gone to location hunting in the beginning of this month mentioned.
This cafe seems to be managing by an elderly couple, and looks old. It was a very open-hearted place where stray dogs and cats freely roam in and out in the shop.
After we had a dinner at the hotel, we strolled in the town of XXX at night.

July 22:
Today, we got up at 5am to do location hunting of XXX at daybreak. The scenery of the sea changing little by little at the sunrise was so beautiful.
--------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------
July 14, 2006
The TBS program R30 featured Toshio Suzuki.
the interviewer asked him.

Q: Is "no" (の) part of the title?
Suzuki: Yes.
Q: something "no" something?
Suzuki: The title contains two "no".
--------------------------------------------------

right now, keywords of next film are
"Kobe", two "no", "Harbor"

What kind of story did they choose?
What do you think?
