Posted by dballred on 06.21.2006, 01:50 AM: After rare consultation with the wife (Japanese), we can't come to an agreement what the first character is. We've agreed that the second character is likely 京 (Miyako or capital--the Kyo of Tokyo). She can't make any sense out of what is there, either, but we both think that there is more to the left of what is shown. One possibility (the wife does not agree) is 大赤京帝國. That might be read "Daisekkyou Teikoku." (The Great Red Capital Empire?) She also didn't like my suggestion for 充 as the first character of the four. |
Posted by ting on 06.21.2006, 07:30 AM: i agree the second word (maybe the third-cpz there is an other word on the left) is 京too. i think 大赤京帝國 is probably the closest word you can get. Dballred, you are good at guessing |
Posted by SpiritedSen on 06.21.2006, 08:21 AM: Cheers v.much dballred and ting! Not sure what all that's got to do with Akira though, maybe it's not from Akira at all! Oh well, it's a cool pic anyway!!

Posted by ting on 06.26.2006, 05:22 PM: i love him so much too!! i think Jet Li so much better than Jacky Chan, i don't know, i just don't like Jacky Chan. I think Jet Li was such a amazing guy. Had you watch Danny the Dog? what do you think? |

Posted by SpiritedSen on 07.02.2006, 05:00 PM: Well...I saw Fearless today, and it's really good! Jet Li acted brilliantly in it, and the martial arts were amazing. It's a really touching strory and I'll now do a cut and paste job from Wikipedia...

Posted by dballred on 07.03.2006, 12:38 AM: I think horror films have evolved from scary to grossing me out. The six-inch spike through the eye gets me every time. |
Posted by SpiritedSen on 07.03.2006, 06:52 AM: I didn't think the Cube or Saw films were scary....they were good, but not scary! Love the bit in Cube where that guy gets sliced into...well, cubes!! The twist at the end of Saw is awesome too!
