Perhaps a vote, should be done in the last week of every month. To vote who is the Tavern Member Of The Month.

It could be based off some factors.

1. How Active the member is

2. How many posts (no spam)

3. Contribution to the forum

Other factors, anyone else seems fit ?. I would like this very much, not sure if it has been tried before, but it should be done now .

It might've worked in a time where there was more activity, but these days there are only a few real regulars, and not many people frequently post good content. So yeah, I don't think it would be much use.

Yeah, I noticed since joining. It is the same members that are active, was there a sudden burst of joy, when you realised, I wasn't just another member, I was an active one ? Haha.

My question is, why isn't it active ?. There is enough fans of Ghibli films to make this forum active, there isn't really anything like this forum.

I don't think so... I am an admirer of Ghibli Studios films and that is why I am here as are all of you. We get along despite our differences because of that liking. I am just one of what used to be a lot more members that were active in the Tavern but who, for various reasons, have slowly fallen by the wayside. It may be that they are facing tougher things in life that preclude them from coming to the Tavern, maturing, or simply becoming more interested in something else, whatever.

I am here because I love Ghibli films and always will. I am old enough that I have the time to come in here numerous times a day and add my little bits of postings and also old enough that I'm pretty well set in my ways and will not change very much for the rest of my life, however long or short that may be.

I appreciate the fact that some new members have joined that are not afraid to post as so many, many others seem to be. Why they become members and do not post is a mystery to me, but there are thousands that have done so or not done so, as the case may be. I want to see this forum continue and so I add my little tidbits in times of slowness to try and spark more interest, that is all. This is a joint effort for us all to work on, not as a chore, but as something that we don't want to see disappear.

Yes, I would be livid, if we were to loose this little slice of delight. I am a member of many forums, but this seems to tickle my fancy far more than others, though they aren't Ghibli related, they do have threads started by me on them.

I have recommended people to join, I hope it becomes more active, thus more news and fun.

Personally, I don't see the need for such a competition or endorsement of any particular person's worth to the Tavern. IMO, everyone who is a regular contributor to this Forum deserves recognition. And to me, that includes the older members who come by now and then and add their little bits to the whole experience.

I miss a lot of the people who were already members when I came on board as well as the many who came after me. I look through the member lists sometimes just to remind myself of these people and I do miss them. It was fun to interact with so many people and I miss that. Yes, there are the people who I 'talk' to in here now, but in the past there were so many more active members.

Whenever someone comments on my Ghibli tattoos I always make an effort to let them know about the Tavern and encourage them to join. How well this effort has succeeded, I don't know, but it is not through lack of trying.
