I thought things could not have been any better at that moment but Maho squeezed my hand and reflexively I turned to look at her. Her nervousness was plain as day on her face. To think that she was just as nervous as me... I felt a warmth settle in me.

Particularly if they are from the same class, they would make a beeline to each other's desks and walk out together, chit-chatting happily.

My muscles were sore from trembling since the end of lunch, my cheeks aching from smiling. It was like all afternoon i'd had butterflies in my stomach, no not butterflies that's not the right word. Bees. Buzzing all over my body, leaving delicate tingling trails as they spread from tip to toe.

Posted by Kazegami on 01.31.2010, 03:35 PM: As the throng of homeward bound students thinned, I found myself a little behind. I picked up my pace, having a train to catch after all, but when my ears detected the mention of a rather infamous name, I paused. It was Icchan, with Takako. Karinushi hm? Her house? It's shadow stuff, Kazu-chan.~ I glanced over at them again; they hadn't noticed me. I glanced at my watch. Time was running out for that train. But you were just thinking you'd like to miss the train some day, right? Here's your chance. I half-smiled at the thought, my pathetic idea of rebellion against parents who overly concerned with punctuality. Pathetic perhaps, but it would be a nice little start wouldn't it?

It's that label again, that group of us who seem to have fallen randomly together because of the Shadows, while around us the rest of the school and the city and the world turns and turns, oblivious to what's happening, like some second-rate Shounen manga.

He looked as laid-back as usual, seemingly unfazed by the events from earlier and for a second I felt my stomach sink. Then he replied to my query, his words tumbling out with a wave of enthusiasm which would shame even the most avid sports fan. Maybe it's not just me whose feeling a little shy.
