[Double posting because I actually saw stuff lately]

On the plane I watched Argo, which was very good. Some of the tension near the end seems a little overwrought, but it was genuinely exciting, and fascinating that it was based on real events!

I also saw the extremely strange Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, in which Nicolas Cage is addicted to drugs and is generally insane as per usual. It's very odd, hard to follow and often surreally hilarious, but weirdly gripping.

Last night I saw eXistenZ, which was also very weird. I didn't like everything about it, and found the dialogue to be a bit lame (although arguably this was intentional? you'd have to watch it to understand), but the premise was interesting and I liked the unusual way the plot unfolds.

[oops, me again! Is nobody else watching anything?]

Last night I saw Monsters University, which was a lot of fun! It's been so long since I saw the original that I can't really compare, but it was good, and there are various jokes for people who have seen the original before.

I've seen it too Arren! Last Thursday I got the opportunity to watch it for free as an E4 Slackers Club member. I thought it was absolutely fantastic - not just a clever prequel but memorable in its own right. Humorous and heartwarming, Pixar never fail to deliver!

I was just looking at the theater listings to see when it played today... Got four chances to see it today...

I saw it with Slackers Club too! In Edinburgh it was postponed by a week for some reason.

So I saw Rise of the Guardians for the first time. Ha, look who's late to the party...

Conclusion: not bad. Over-hyped. But not bad. They were pretty creative with the guardians and I liked that.

Moonrise Kingdom, Wes Anderson's new movie, was really great. Maybe my favorite of his.

I also saw Safety Not Guaranteed, the movie that is sort of about time travel, maybe. I thought the main plot was really funny and touching, but the movie gets slightly bogged down with annoying subplots.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I saw Safety Not Guaranteed quite recently too! I felt much the same way really. Some parts didn't really gel with the main plot and involved characters I never particularly cared about, and even the main story could've done with a bit more to it, but I liked the premise and the main characters.

Just got home from watching "Monster University"... well, abt 45 min ago, lol...

Enjoyed the movie, and liked the little thing at the end of the credits... That is why I always try to sit thru all of the credits... Sometimes there is something extra to see...

I've been watching The Fringe (JJ Abrams) and the West Wing (Aaron Sorkin), which never gets old no matter how many times you rewatch it.

Went to the local theater and saw "Dispicable ME2" then saw "The Lone Ranger"...

Loved the first one. Lots of laughs...

the second one,
A LOT of action and some humor throughout the film. Didn't care for the was the tale was told, though... Seemed too disjointed to me. Still enjoyed it...

Saw "The Illusionist", a poignant little tale about a good magician in a world that thinks he is a bit humdrum except for one young woman...

I'm wondering, why is Despicable Me so popular with my Asian friends. XD All the guys have little minion dolls. It's cute but really funny to me. lol

I saw the new Wolverine movie. Some scenes bothered me a little bit, but I liked Yukio's actress. XD

saw "R.I.P.D."... A good deal of laughing and major action, but overall...meh!

I want to see both of those films, but spent all my money until next month.

I saw The Watch, that was a funny film.

I watched Barry Lyndon again today for the first time in... oh... must be 25 years. A true masterpiece of film making. It hasn't aged a day and is as stunning as ever.

I watched a German film called Lore and a current blockbuster Pacific Rim yesterday.

I could not have chosen two more different films.

Lore was hauntingly beautiful, full of unspoken words and bleak but stunning scenery and images. It followed a teenage German girl, the daughter of two high-up Nazi officials, desperately dragging her several younger siblings across the German countryside in an effort to reach the supposed safety of her grandmother's house.

Pacific Rim is probably best described as pachow! bam*~~~~~! KESCHPLAW!

Hey! Lore is on my to-watch list. It got shoved down because someone told me it dragged on and had subpar pacing, though.
