A Clockwork Orange doesn't have "senseless" violence.. nor is that violence particularly visually horrific.. You might condemn the characters actions as senseless but the movie itself is constructed with a distinct intention. It's an incredibly shocking film which can make you very uneasy and uncomfortable but not in the same way that something like the famous Reservoir Dogs scene would. Alot of the violence and rape is strongly implied not shown. You rarely see blood and if you do then its minimal like minor cuts or some of the victims on the main characters clothes.

Oh well thats not so bad then. Maybe i'll get my mum to buy it for me on the weekend then and i'll give it a look see.

I love Reservoir Dogs

After being highly impressed by Ellen Page's work in Juno, I was curious to see some of her previous acting work. I looked her up on the IMDb and figured I would take a look at Hard Candy, because it seemed interesting and because she was one of the two main characters.

Now having just seen the film, I feel like someone kicked me in the stomach.

Not that it was at all a bad film, it was just . . . wow. First of all, it completely reaffirms my assessment of Ellen Page as the best young actress around, period; she's absolutely incredible in a tremendously challenging role. Second of all, it was probably one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen--definitely not for the faint of heart.

I don't want to give away much about the plot, because the less you know about it, the more you'll enjoy it I think. Suffice to say it's about a romantic meeting between a 32-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl (a disturbing enough concept already), that rapidly gets more and more disturbing as it progresses, but in ways you wouldn't expect.

Earlier this evening we went along to our local cinema to see ‘Son of Rambow’, it’s a British nostalgic comedy about 2 11year old school kids, set in the early 1980’s, I was just a snotty little urchin myself back then, so it was an interesting bit of retrospective time travelling for me and my wife.

As the title suggests, the 2 main characters embark on filming themselves as Rambo’s Son & Colonel Troutman in search of the now aging ‘one-man-army’, it’s a bit far-fetched in parts, but it’s very heart-warming.

I especially enjoyed the French exchange students; I could almost smell the garlic emanating from them.

Just watched "Whisper of the Heart". Fourth time I think that I've said it now...

I saw 'Happy-Go-Lucky' the other day, I felt like leaving the cinema during the first 20 odd mins, It was cringe-worthy, then poppy(the protaganist) meets her driving instructer and chemistry occurs, she's an angel, and it's set around CAMDEN!! well worth seeing, the film and the place!

Watched a Disney channel movie at my friend's yesterday... and it took a lot of restraint to keep myself from laughing throughout the whole thing. It was a dog movie and it was predictable, the actors somehow all had the corniest faces on the face of the planet (haha , faces on the face of the planet!) and the jokes were never funny. My brain does more work while it's sleeping than it does when watching stuff like that.

And then America's Next Top Model... I wanted to gag. Come on... you can't seriously... be into that kind of stuff...

In case you haven't gotten it, I really don't have cable, and I love it that way.

* Thinks. I really should watch another movie some time...*

Movies are cool.

At the moment I'm pretty much into more episodical stuff on DVD.
