  What are you currently watching?

I noticed a distinct lack of this around the forums, I apologised if I've missed it though. Obvious spoilers to be found.

Currently Watching: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, When They/Cicadas Cry.

I've never found any Anime actually scary but this comes pretty close. Just finished watching the second story arc, Cotton Drifting and the psychological element of it plays out really well. Not being able to tell if your speaking to someone or there twin sister with slightly a psychotic laugh is disturbing at the best of times. Wrapped up in the myth about Oyashiro-sama mystery is also good for the whole, "Who dunnit?" element.

Oh yeah, heard of this one. Supposed to be damn good.

Now? Nothing new, just following the new Clannad, Gundam 00, Shakugan no Shana 2, and the slightly old Sky Girls.

Well, I'm re-watching Fruits Basket. For like the two-hundredth time. Because I love it soooooo much. The manga's great too. I just wish they'd hurry up and finish translating it.

And sometime in the future I plan to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion. Isn't it meant to be the most popular anime series ever or something? Anyway people have said it's really good so I'll probably give it a try.

I'm getting through Gundam 00, but I'm falling behind with the school work piling up. I'm also rewatching sola.

well its very popular, but if your tastes centre around FB adn similar animes then you might not like it. still of course anythings wortha try, im not denying its good but personally it wasnt for me, i stopped half way through the second episode...

Im randomly watching 'Samurai Champloo' again when i feel like it because i love it.
i just watched 'Paprika' last night.. it was confusing, weird, disturbing, alien and amazing.. for hours after watching it i was simultaneously mentally exhausted and stimulated. i really need someone to help me through it so im going to search through to see if theres any good threads on it and might revive them so people can guide me through the range of things i didnt get.

I'll talk about it. Its truly a work of art. We have a thread here about it already so post there and I'll pop over.

I recently watched:

"Beck" for the 2nd time.
"Haruhi Suzumiya" for 2nd time (will soon watch it 3rd time but in chronological order to see what that's like).

Currently watching:

"GITS SAC 2nd GIG"

Next:

I need to finish "Boogiepop Phantom"
"Lovely Complex"

I'm Currently watching Mushishi and Suzumiya Haruhi. After that it'll be Kamichu I'm pretty sure. Spirited Away TV they call it. Hmm...we'll see.

Hmm, how is that? I brought the first manga a while back, it was good, but I felt that animation would do it more justice...

Posted by Roarkiller on 11.23.2007, 10:22 AM:

Mushishi is like Aria. It's a very laid-back series, nothing spectacular, barely any action, hardly any humour.

And it was voted as one of the best anime in history

It basically follows a Mushi-shi (near impossible to translate, like Mononoke Hime) on his travels, the different mushi he encounters and their properties.

Kamichu! is the one about the girl who "accidentally" became a goddess isn't it? It's another laid-back series, but not as much as Mushishi or Aria.

I want to watch:

Bokurano
Sola
School Rumble (just a whim I have)
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Ghost Hound

And a few more, but I can't remember. Unfortunately, my Hddisk is so full I have no space fo anymore new anime. Just waiting for my new rig to be ready, and I will have 500GB (read: FIVE HUNDRED) to stuff full of anime.

In other news, I have secured tickets for Byousoku 5cm Also, I'll be catching the Free dom Project tomorrow, from the makers of Akira It's a three-part series, but they will only be showing the first part for the festival. Pity.

Hn, I heard something bout something new for Tsubasa...hn..

Sugar Sugar Rune, Noein (I have the first episode on a DVD round here somewhere..) and MushiShi.

@Roar, I do recommend sola. I found it to be so amazing. It really held my interest. Now all people are different, and you are well versed in anime, so i might be missing some obvious flaws or something, but it seemed really solid to me.

I also concur in the school rumble comment, I saw it and thought it might look interesting. Something to kill the time.
But I might watch Beck or Teknolyze or actually finish SEL.

I don't think you can 'finish' SEL. If you take a break you really have to rewatch it right through pretty fast, 1 ep a day at least.

yeah i wasn't going to pick it up where i left off cause it was too long ago. I didn't remember anything that was going on, but everytime i did a ep 1 restart i couldn't get in to it.

Beck does intrigue me a bit, so i'll probably check that one out
