1. What are the representative character that you would recognize from these list. Tell me 1.
-Spirited Away (not Zen, my professor didn't think she is)
Hmm... If not Sen/Chihiro then I guess Haku? I still think Chihiro is the best choice.
-Princess Mononoke
I think San is definitely the representative character for this.
2. Are there characters that based on Japanese folks? Legend?
I don't know for sure, but it seems likely that some characters from Princess Mononoke are based in legend/folklore. The Tale of Princess Kaguya is based on an old Japanese folktale.
3. Which movies from Studio Ghibli have cute instrumental music? I search for it like a week. There are only sad and too relax musics. What I'm looking for is fun and cute tone. Can you please recommend any of that?
I think either Kiki's Delivery Service or My Neighbour Totoro will have some music like that.

I agree completely with Kazegami's answers. Spirited Away is a story about Chihiro. She is the central and key character and we learn a lot about her.
The other characters all support and influence her growth in the story.
I'd like to hear the reasons why your professor doesn't think she is the representative character.
Also "representative" is a curious word to use. Do you fully understand what your professor meant by this because I don't! Usually people describe the key character of a story as the principal character.

i am bit confused kaz why or how san is representative character in Mononoke(ofcourse the name of the movie and poster implies she is the one). In my opinion ashitaka is the representative character as he mostly did all of the things. i might be wrong cause i dont know what actually representative character means in Arts and Media studies

its a uniquely Miyazaki film, one only he could make and its uniqueness places it beyond being easily critiqued.[About Porco Rosso] taken from a quote of Saddletank and Orphic Okapi

I took "representative character" to mean... the character whose image comes to mind when you mention the film. The character whose image is best known, most famous. There is a lot more artwork of San out there in the world than there is of Ashitaka.
Take My Neighbour Totoro for example. The story is not about Totoro and is not told from its perspective; Satsuki and Mei are the main characters. But I would say that Totoro is definitely the representative character for that film, as far more people will recognise Totoro than will recognise Satsuki or Mei.

ps. I'm doing Infographic though if you're curious xD
1) You must explain to us what "representative" means in this case.
I'll try to interpret it from a different point of view from Kaz.
I suppose a "representative character" can also mean the character who represents the idea of the film.
In this case:
Spirited Away: Sen/Chihiro, without a doubt.
Spirited Away is all about her growth.
Princess Mononoke: Ashitaka.
He was the bond between humans (Eboshi) and nature (San), the only one who saw both sides, who "saw with eyes unclouded by hate", which is what Miyazaki wanted to say, I suppose.
2) Kaguya-hime and Pom Poko's tanukis are the only two that comes to my mind. Many Ghibli characters are based on fictional Japanese characters, but most of them is a "mixture" of many ideas, like Totoro. I think Kaguya and the tanuki are "pure images" from Jp folklore. (Sorry, it was hard to express this in English, I don't know if it came out right)
3) My Neighbor Totoro and My Neighbors the Yamadas have cute and upbeat soundtracks.
~~~
I'm very curious to see your complete thesis, please show us when you're done!
