i guess so,
but then that means that Kiki and Tombo will have to hook up, inless they already did, kinda hard to tell. than if there was a Kiki's delivery service 2, Kiki and Jijis partnership wouldnt be there which was a large part of the original

lets hope that there is never a Kikki's 2.. or sequel to any Ghibli for that matter..
Sequels are notorious movie-wreckers.

Well, Spiderman 2 was a lot better than the first Spiderman movie, but that is a pretty unusual occurence.
Still, Miyazaki would never make a sequel, and I respect that decision.

I thought all the spiderman movies were rubbish. Sorry, don't take that personally.

Sequels are notorious movie-wreckers.
they do sometimes wreck movies, but it is more when it is an unintentional sequel, things that are designed as trilogies dont wreck films as much, but the middle film always gets torn apart, (See Matrix,The)
i could handle a ghibli sequel as whenever i finish a film i want it to keep going. but that is just me.

Not necessarily. Pirates of the Carribean, I believe, was planned as a trilogy; the first was pretty good, but the last two were awful.
The only conclusion I can come to is that sequels can be either good or bad; it just depends on the quality of the film. Which, I suppose, should have been obvious from the beginning.
Bah.

its not necessarily the 'quality' of the movie
but more the writing
if the script is good
the movie will probably be good too
as long as it has good acting and a good budget

Isn't a good script sort of implied in the word "quality"?
But I'm not sure a good script is really necessary to make a good movie. There's not really any dialogue in "The Triplets of Belleville," but it's still great.

yeah i guess, i just thought u were taking aboot visual qualities.
and yeah a script isnt the only factor that makes a good movie.
its like art, in order to have a good work of art you must have the elements and principles of art, line, shape, texture, value, unity, balance, etc.

Bah.
well, im in the minority, i like pirates 2 and 3. and i liked the first the least in comparison. I liked the increase in action, it would have been nice to have more humour.
i think something like spider man, where the first was good, but 2 and 3 were disasters.

As you said, you're in the minority. The first Pirates movie was received much more critical acclaim than the others, which were widely panned. The second Spiderman movie is also the most highly regarded among critics, with the first slightly behind, and the third trailing in the distance. Which, I think, is perfectly appropriate.
Anyway, we're a bit off topic here, aren't we?

Come on, we've seen what happens when a continuation or expansion of Ghibli themes/characters/ideas is undertaken... ie; the Cat Returns...
Thats not to say i didnt like it as such, its just not so great amongst it's peers and deffinately not next to Whisper.
