Miyazaki: Ohayo gozaimasu (good morning)
0:26
Anno: I will do what I can do, but I can't do a further thing.
0:31
Miyazaki: If Anno is no use, Suzuki-san does it instead. (laughs)

Anno (as Jiro): Kaze yo tsubasa wo furuwasete anata no motoe todoki mase.
("Wind, please take this airplane (probably a paper airplane) to her.")
1:01
Anno: Should I say it a little more strongly?
Miyazaki: It is fine just the way you did.
Anno: Thank you.

Anno: When an audition was over, Miya-san said to me "do it!" with a smile of the whole face which I had not seen. So, I thought that I must do it.
1:40
Anno: When I took the audition, Miya-san said to me "there are few lines, because he is a taciturn man." I believed it and took the role. But, I was really surprised when I read its script. Jiro keeps on talking all the time and in addition he sings a song and speaks French and German. I was completely tricked!
Thanks to Daniel Zelter and T. Ishikawa for the news.
